Today I’m taking a closer look at the card from what is probably Germany’s best-known automobile club: the ADAC CampCard 2024.

What is the ADAC CampCard and what does it include?
As you would expect from a camping discount card, you can use it to gain all kinds of financial benefits on the campsite. But of course not all camping cards have the same plus points. One serves as proof of identity in addition to the discounts, the other includes liability insurance.
With some discount systems you can save in the high season, with others only in the low season. But what about the ADAC camping card?
For several years, the ADAC Campcard was based on the “buy 3, pay 2” principle. Since the beginning of 2021, the discount offer has been made a little less complicated and is now similar to that of other camping cards: From now on, the ADAC Campcard discount is valid on at least 50 days a year (even in the high season), is valid from the first overnight stay and is at least 15 and up to 50 percent!
Depending on the campsite, this may even be possible in the high season, as the ADAC explains on the website of the campsite portal pincamp.de. And, as always, the period during which the camping card is accepted and whether additional benefits are offered is determined by the campsite and pitch operators themselves.
How do you get the ADAC Campcard and how much does it cost?
You will receive the ADAC CampCard with the ADAC Camping Guide or the Pitch Guide, which are published once a year.
ADAC Camping Guide 2024 incl. Campcard
You can order the current camping guide as a classic hardcover version for €29.90 in the ADAC online store or from Amazon:
For this price you will receive the current camping guide for Germany and Northern Europe or the volume for Southern Europe.
- The version for Germany and Northern Europe includes the following countries: Germany, Belgium, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Sweden, Slovakia, Czech Republic, United Kingdom. The camping guide contains around 2,600 campsites in 16 countries and there are over 2,500 discount offers.
- If you opt for the Southern Europe volume, it includes these countries: Albania, Andorra, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, France, Greece, Italy, Croatia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Austria, Portugal, Romania, Switzerland, Serbia, Slovenia, Spain, Hungary. This camping guide includes around 2,900 campsites in 18 countries and there are over 2,500 discount offers.
ADAC Pitch Guide 2024 incl. Campcard
Depending on where you like to go on vacation, you will need the right travel guide. If you are more interested in the current pitch guide, this is available for €32.00, with Campcard included, in the ADAC online store or from Amazon.
The ADAC campsite guide lists over 6,100 campsites with around 550 farms and wineries in 35 European countries.
ADAC Camping and Pitch Guide App 2024
If you like to save space in your car and love the simplicity of the modern age, there is the “ADAC Camping Guide and Pitch Guide App“. The CampCard and its discount benefits are also included here. For €9.99, this offers all the advantages of the hardback versions. It is available for both Apple and Android.
The ADAC app lists up-to-date and verified information on around 25,000 campsites and parking spaces in Germany and Europe. There is a good search and filter option and the app also works without an internet connection.
Now you know how to get an ADAC CampCard. No matter which option you choose, the ADAC Campingcard and its benefits are included. The digital ADAC Campcard 2024 is valid until the end of January 2025.
In which countries are there campsites where the ADAC Campingcard can be used?
The number of participating campsites almost overwhelms me. In 36 European countries you will find a total of around 3,000 ADAC-approved campsites and pitches that accept your ADAC Campcard. The most popular vacation destinations for ADAC CampCard owners include popular destinations such as Germany, Italy, France, Croatia and Spain.
You can easily find out whether your desired vacation destination is included and how many campsites accept the CampCard there via the Internet or in the traditional way of browsing. On the new ADAC campsite portal PiNCAMP and in the camping guide app you will find all countries in chronological order in which there is at least one campsite that offers you the benefits of the ADAC Campcard.
What else you should know about the ADAC Campcard
Like almost all discount cards, the ADAC Campingcard is also personalized. This means that it is only valid if it is completed in full. If you have not filled it in as required, no campsite owner or groundsman is obliged to give you a discount.
So watch out, don’t overlook anything! If you have filled in everything correctly and it still happens that a campsite does not want to accept your card, you can contact us by e-mail at Contact [email protected]. In this case, the employees of the responsible ADAC department will take care of it and make sure that you get your discount.

Conclusion on the ADAC Campcard
The sheer number of campsites and pitches that cooperate with the ADAC and let you spend your vacation at the ADAC discount price is overwhelming. However, and this is just my personal opinion, there are discount cards from other providers that offer other, more or equally remarkable benefits. The ADAC Camping Card offers at least 15 and up to 50 % discounts at around 3,000 campsites throughout Europe – depending on the operator in the low season, sometimes also in the high season.
Although it is not an adequate proof of identity for the campsite compared to a passport and does not offer liability insurance, the financial benefits may be higher compared to other discount cards since the start of 2021.
What makes the card particularly interesting, however, is its low price for the large number of participating campsites, which may allow you to camp at a reduced price even during the high season. Whether the ADAC Campingcard is right for you or not depends – as with all other discount cards – on your interests and vacation wishes.
