When I take delivery of the Bürstner Lineo T 690 G from the Franco-German motorhome manufacturer in Kehl, I am excited to see what experiences await me with the semi-integrated motorhome. Not only because I had been planning to test it for some time, but also because I have already been able to test a Ford-based motorhome with the LMC Tourer Lift H 664 G and therefore have a good basis for comparison.

On the road with the Bürstner Lineo T 690 G: on the road in wind and weather on a Ford base
Shortly after leaving Kehl, I head towards Lake Constance. The route takes me across the Black Forest and the Swabian Alb. This unintentionally turned into an endurance test, as I was not only riding on roads with gradients and inclines, but also got caught in a heavy downpour, which can often cause serious flooding, especially on the Zollernalb.
Nevertheless, I am spared from debris and water and the Bürstner Lineo T 690 G copes well with the heavy rain. Not only does it remain watertight, the windshield wipers also do a good job. I feel safe and don’t have to stop. In this context, it should also be mentioned that Bürstner offers a ten-year watertightness guarantee for all current models.

The Ford Transit convinces
Right from the start, the Ford Transit proves to be a base vehicle that harmonizes very well with the Bürstner body. This applies to the entire body, which is only 2.20 m wide and, in combination with the short wheelbase of 3.75 m, enables agile handling of the seven-meter-long semi-integrated vehicle. The Lineo T 690 G is also comparatively light and moves like a car, making you forget that you are traveling with over three tons. This pleasant driving behavior is supported by the steering wheel, which can be ordered in leather upholstery, with control elements for the on-board electronics and the display.
The height and depth of the steering wheel can be infinitely adjusted, making it easy to switch between drivers. This also makes it easier to set up the seating area. The two swivel seats in the driver’s cab are equipped with armrests and the upholstery is the same as in the rest of the seating area, forming a harmonious unit with the interior. There you will find a classic layout with a seating group in the driver’s cab, bathroom and kitchen block in the middle section and single beds in the rear.

Chic seating area – also for guests
The seating group in the Bürstner Lineo T 690 G incorporates the swivel seats, as offered by countless other motorhomes. Bürstner has used the Brava design for the décor. The combination of cream and copper tones creates a warm atmosphere. The positioning of the body door allows an additional seat on the passenger seat directly at the entrance, so that a total of five seats are available for residents and guests. However, this is not equipped so that five people can ride along, as there are only four seats with three-point seat belts. But it is still comfortable.

The table is flexible. It is in two parts, whereby the lower half can be turned out. Depending on the seating arrangement, the lower half can be positioned flexibly. In addition, the entire table is hooked into a rail on the outer wall, which also allows a little play when positioning it. And the table can be folded away compactly for travel or when space is required. The seating group has a very friendly appearance. In addition to the furniture design, this is not least due to the brightness, which is enhanced by a panoramic window above the driver’s cabin.

In conjunction with the electric step, the body door is both conventional and equipped with a special Bürstner feature. In addition to the classic waste garbage can, there is an additional window that provides more light in the Lineo T 690 G.

But that’s not all. In addition to a small rubber net, there is also a docking station for the Bürstner Home Light. The lights can be docked to various connections or used as a torch or table lamp outdoors. Bürstner has worked intensively on the subject of atmosphere, light and brightness and has also found its way into the semi-integrated Lineo.

Single beds in the rear sleeping area
The layout in the Bürstner Lineo T 690 G has become a classic. The comfort of single lengthways beds has long been a basic requirement for motorhome owners over 40. As with many others, an additional mattress can be inserted in the middle. However, there is no completely enclosed sleeping area right down to the foot end. The sleeping area is also designed so that there are no tall cupboards on the sides, only on the rear wall. This creates space for windows, so that a bright bedroom contributes to comfort in the semi-integrated vehicle. The beds are also installed quite high, which creates more storage space in the garage. The disadvantage of this design is that there is little room for the head to move under the tall cupboards on the rear wall. So if you are taller than 1.85 m, it is better to test whether the restriction on freedom of movement is manageable.

Bathroom and kitchen in the middle section
In the middle section of the Bürstner Lineo T 690 G, the bathroom and kitchen block face each other. The energy supply – this also applies to the heating – is also provided in the classic way with two 11 kg gas cylinders. The kitchen block has two gas hobs and a sink. There is still space in front and to the left as a work surface. There is a rail on the side into which an additional shelf can be hung. This proves to be better than a hinged shelf, as it leaves space on the side wall for the light switches and sockets.

The bathroom is designed as a swivel bath. In the “standard position”, there is a toilet and washbasin with ambient lighting. A large mirror is mounted above the washbasin and there is an almost ceiling-high cabinet above the toilet with plenty of storage space for personal hygiene equipment. The washbasin, mirror and lighting are mounted on a wall that can be swung to the side above the toilet for showering. This creates the shower and at the same time protects the rest of the bathroom from splashing water.

What do you need to know about the Bürstner Lineo T 690 G price?
A semi-integrated vehicle of this class and size usually costs at least 80,000 euros. However, the saturated market is currently stagnating, which, combined with inflation and recession, has triggered a discount battle. Dealer lots have been full since 2024 and sales have stalled. Manufacturers and retailers are trying to boost sales with special promotions. A quick search for the Bürstner Lineo T 690 G revealed that it is available from as little as 62,800 euros (as of August 2024). It is therefore worth taking a closer look, negotiating or even taking advantage of the trade fair discounts at the Caravan Salon in Düsseldorf.
Conclusion: The Bürstner Lineo T 690 G offers couples a home on wheels
The Bürstner Lineo T 690 G is made for traveling couples who don’t want to miss out on the comfort of single beds with full equipment and still don’t want to exceed the seven-meter limit. Plenty of storage space also offers the opportunity to store many comforts from home and there is also room for bicycles if you want to do without a bike rack at the rear. The Ford Transit has also proven itself as a basic vehicle.
