What does “CKE” mean?
CKE stands for Camping Key Europe and is a camping card that serves as an identity card, discount and advantage card.
What does the Camping Key Europe Card include?
In principle, all discount cards are a bit similar, especially in that you get financial benefits when camping. Nevertheless, not all cards are the same. Some of these “little passengers” offer even more advantages than just saving money. Camping Key Europe is no exception.
Discounts on overnight stays with Camping Key Europe
Let’s start with the financial benefits: Depending on the site and season, you can save up to 20% on the rental price. And not just at the 2,800 or so campsites listed in 24 European countries!
Some motorhome pitches and rental accommodation also take part in the permanent discount campaigns. In this case, permanent does not mean that all participating campsites and pitches offer the Camping Key Europe discounts all year round, but one or two vacation homes are prepared to do so.
The amount of the discount varies depending on the season and campsite. Depending on the operator, you can get a pitch for your vehicle or tent on the standard pitch in the low season from €10.00 per night for 2 people. Also included are one shower per person per day, electricity supply from 5 kWh and, if applicable, the fee for your dog.
The price of this option also depends on the campsite and the time of year. Discounts can also be 5 to 30 % in the high season or at least 5 % on rental accommodation. You can also benefit from other discount promotions such as “stay 7 nights, pay for 6” or a 10% discount on 7 nights.
Info
Please note that reservation fees, tourist tax or other official charges are not included.
Camping Key Europe as proof of identity
Now we come to the advantages that not every camping discount card offers. The Camping Key Europe serves at the same time as a savings companion as a substitute for an ID card. Practical for anyone who prefers to keep their passport and ID card in their pocket to avoid any complications that may arise later.
Camping Key Europe as insurance cover
Camping Key Europe also includes a practical insurance package. The CKE service package includes high-performance all-round insurance cover, consisting of:
- Liability insurance
- Accident insurance
The insurance cover applies not only to you as the owner, but also to all persons traveling with you in the same vehicle. It doesn’t matter whether it’s your partner, your children, grandchildren or friends of your children. All that matters is that they are passengers in your vehicle when you arrive.
How much does the Camping Key Europe cost?
The Camping Key Europe costs €15 and is valid for one year. Savings tip: The ADAC offers the Camping Key Europe Card exclusively for its members at a special price of €12.
Where can I get the Camping Key Europe Card?
Now you want to know where you can buy the discount card, don’t you? There are various ways to acquire a CKE:
- On the official website of the CKE discount card you can find out which partners offer the card: CKE Partner Network.
- As an ADAC member you can either onlineby telephone on 089 558 95 96 97 or directly at one of the ADACoffices. Delivery takes place within 7 working days of the order being placed. But don’t panic, you can request a temporary CKE after purchase.
- Alternatively, you can also order the CKE card on the official Scandinavian camping portals. You can find them on camping.no (Norway), camping.fi (Finland) and camping.se (Sweden).
In which countries is the Camping Key Europe Card valid?
You will find campsites all over Europe that accept your Camping Key Europe. So the name says it all. You will probably find most of the participating campsites and pitches in Germany.
But even in Scandinavia, Belgium, Portugal, the Netherlands, Italy, Spain and many other countries, you can find the right campsite with the CKE. You can find an overview of the participating places here.
What else you should know about the CKE
We have put together a list below of how you can save even more with the CKE Card and what you need to bear in mind when using it.
Further discounts with the Camping Key Europe Card
- Camping Key Europe cooperates with Campingaz, a manufacturer of products that are all related to cooking on a gas stove. As a Camping Key Europe holder, you will receive a 15% discount in the Campingaz online store(voucher code: CKE15).
- As a Camping Key Europe Card holder, Megasat offers you a 3% discount on the purchase of Megasat products.
- There is also a 10% discount on the entire camping range and free delivery in the ADAC online store Camping(voucher code: Campinglust2026).
The validity of the CKE
Camping Key Europe is valid for one year and does not renew automatically, so there is no need to cancel. However, it is possible to order the connection card in advance.
It is imperative that you sign the back of your personalized Camping Key Europe Card! It is also important to add your ID number. This is the only way to ensure that you are granted all the benefits, including proof of identity. If you do not do this, no campsite operator is obliged to do so. So, don’t forget!
It is best to present your CKE directly at reception on arrival. In retrospect, the groundsman may no longer accept your card. The Camping Key Europe is not transferable. This means that the discount card is only valid if you are present as the owner.
