What does “DCC” mean and what is behind it?
The abbreviation DCC stands for the “Deutscher Camping Club e.V.” association. This has been the largest German trade association for caravan, motorhome and tent tourism for 70 years. The club is made up of 21 national associations and 137 local clubs, which employ a total of 200 caravan and motorhome consultants. The main focus is on promoting the German and European camping movement. By providing their members with advice in the areas of camping tourism, camping vehicles and tents, the employees of the association want to make vacation life easier for newcomers to camping and “old campers”.
What are the benefits of DCC membership?
Membership of the DCC brings you many benefits. I’ve already talked briefly about the advice, but the comprehensive range of services is also simply excellent in other areas. Here’s an overview of who it’s worthwhile for:
Special prices for savers
We all like to save money if we don’t have to cut back. With DCC membership, you can do just that. And not just for you alone! Because membership is a family membership. Lots of special conditions await you and your family (or your partner) as soon as you receive your DCC membership card. And that at more than 1,000 campsites in Europe. But you can’t get the same discounts at every campsite. There is a crucial difference: Is your selected campsite a “DCC Advantage Site” or a “DCC Advantage Site PLUS”?
The DCC advantage seat PLUS
If the vacation home is a “DCC Vorteilsplatz PLUS”, you’ve hit the jackpot, so to speak. Because here you and your DCC family only pay €16 per night in low season! In high season it’s €18. But membership is not only important for you and your family. For example, if you are on vacation with your grandparents and there are more than five of you, you only pay €14 per person per night. And that throughout the year! However, the ancillary costs, e.g. for electricity and water, are not included in these prices, but are billed separately.
DCC advantage seat
The prices of the “DCC advantage seats” are not quite as low. On the other hand, the squares are far more numerous. The operators of the “DCC advantage pitches” can each choose between two options: Either they give all DCC members a 10 % discount on the person fee – from the first overnight stay – or they offer a favorable all-inclusive price during certain periods.
This all-inclusive price then includes the pitch fee, the person fee for two adults and their children (up to the age of 18). You also don’t have to pay extra for your grandchildren if you take advantage of one of the package deals. The additional costs are not included here either.
DCC member magazine Camping
And that’s all now? Not really. There is something else! Twelve times a year. The DCC magazine “Camping” is sent to you once a month free of charge. You can also choose to receive “Camping” free of charge as an e-paper. And as if that wasn’t enough, there is also the DCC Camping Guide Europe at a special price .
Discount on the purchase of the CCI-CampingCard
Are you interested in the CCI discount card? Then you will receive a special price as a member of the DCC. The CCI is valid for DCC members for one calendar year and costs €7 per adult and €4.20 per child (10-18 years), plus a surcharge. Postage costs.

Advice for information seekers
The main focus of the DCC is to advise its members on all aspects of camping. Whether you need an expert assessment when buying a motorhome, caravan, tent or similar, or have a technical problem with your camping vehicle, the DCC’s experts are on hand to help. The employees are also familiar with the topic of “water sports“. For example, if you are considering obtaining a recreational boating license that is valid throughout Europe, you can obtain all the necessary information from the DCC.
Liability insurance for the cautious
As is the case with other camping clubs, liability insurance is also included in the membership fee for the DCC card. This means that you and your DCC family are insured for your entire stay at the campsite. Whether personal injury, property damage or financial loss, a maximum compensation payment of up to € 3,000,000 is made, depending on the claim. Good to have, even if I hope you’ll never need it!

Events and meetings for socializing
For all those who like to do more than just go on vacation, the DCC offers several hundred rallies per year in cooperation with the umbrella organizations . No, not the kind Walter Röhrl once drove! But it’s not quite as reckless as that. The so-called rallies are actually rallies. This means that people come from all directions to meet at a venue and enjoy a program prepared by the organizer. What these events are about depends entirely on the respective organizer. You can find out when and where the next rally will take place and what the organizer will inspire you with in the current issue of “Camping” or on the Internet.
What does membership or the DCC Camping Card cost?
The annual fee for a family/individual membership is currently €54; junior membership (18-21 years) currently costs just €10. Membership always runs for one calendar year, so it’s worth taking out a membership right at the beginning of the year!
Where can I find DCC campsites?
As described above, the DCC campsites consist of advantage pitches and advantage pitches PLUS. You can find a practical overview of all campsites in the DCC Camping Guide Europe 2024. I will go into the advantage seats in more detail later.
DCC advantage seats
There are plenty of DCC advantage seats almost everywhere. In Germany, you will find campsites in all federal states where you can use your DCC Camping Card. The DCC is also represented in many other European countries. You can also save on your travel budget in Austria, Denmark, France, Italy, Portugal, Poland, Sweden, Slovenia, Spain, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Turkey and the Netherlands. In the DCC portal you can view the membership places of the individual countries – simply check the box “DCC discount”.
DCC advantage seats plus
The situation is similar for DCC PLUS advantage seats. Germany also offers suitable places in almost every federal state. They are somewhat less common across Europe. However, the list of countries does not change, so no matter which country you choose, you have the option of deciding between DCC Advantage Seat and DCC Advantage Seat PLUS. The free “DCC 3in1camping app“ is the perfect complement to the camping guide. The function is the same as in the browser version. However, the app only works if you have mobile internet and your reception is sufficient. However, the search for a suitable place is not only possible online. There are also various options offline.
Updated monthly, you will also find all participant places in the DCC newspaper “Camping”. Practical, because the magazine is automatically sent to you as a member. If you would like to have a list in your glove compartment, you can easily print it out. This is very easy, because the DCC provides you with these in the portal as a PDF file.
How do you become a DCC member?
Would you like to become a DCC member? Then there are two ways in which you can register. You can either fill in the application form online and send it off with a click of the mouse. Or you can download the declaration of membership from the download area of the portal, fill it out by hand and send it back to the DCC by post. You can find the download link here. After a processing time of around two weeks, you will receive your membership card and are officially a member of the Camping Sparfüchse.
How can you cancel your membership?
If you realize that you no longer need the membership, you can cancel it just as easily as you applied for it. The membership year is always the calendar year. This means that termination is only possible at the end of the calendar year. The DCC must receive written notice of termination by September 30 at the latest in order for it to be effective for the following year. Upon termination, all claims against the DCC shall lapse. If you do not cancel, your membership is automatically extended by one calendar year.
