The Dethleffs Globebus Performance 4x4, the first motorhome from Dethleffs with all-wheel drive, was presented as a study at the Caravan Salon 2024. The Performance 4x4 is characterized by its special off-road equipment and a powerful appearance, which is complemented by strong contrasts in the interior.
Technical data
The 2024 Dethleffs Performance 4x4 vehicle model is a semi-integrated off-roader based on a VW. The exact dimensions are 6.85 m in length, 2.2 m in width and 2.88 m in height. The permissible total weight is 3,880 kg.
Equipped with a 163 hp (120 kW) engine, a differential lock, an 8-speed automatic transmission, a lift and a front axle reinforced to 2,100 kg, the vehicle is suitable for off-road use. The air-sprung rear axle contributes to a high level of driving comfort.
The motorhome offers sleeping space for two people in the form of single beds arranged in the rear of the vehicle. The driver's cabin is equipped with swivel seats that allow flexible use of the interior.
Interior
The interior of the Dethleffs Performance 4x4 is characterized by a modern living space design and high-quality materials.
The seating area is located at the front of the vehicle, directly behind the driver's cabin. The sleeping areas consist of two single beds arranged in the rear of the motorhome.
The kitchen is located in the middle section of the vehicle and is equipped with a two-burner gas stove and a 131-liter compressor refrigerator.
The bathroom is also located in the middle section of the vehicle and is designed as a swivel bathroom, which allows for flexible use. It has a shower, a Clesana C1 dry toilet and an integrated washbasin.
Technology and equipment
A powerful diesel heater and air conditioning system ensure a pleasant indoor climate. The water supply is ensured by fresh water and waste water tanks as well as a water heater. A Grönbeck water filter system ensures that clean, healthy water is always available.
Storage space
The Dethleffs Performance 4x4 has ample storage space both inside and outside. Inside, lockers and variable compartments offer enough space for clothing and personal items. Airline rails are attached to the outer wall to which outdoor accessories can be attached.
Exterior
The design of the Dethleffs Performance 4x4 is striking and stands out from conventional motorhomes thanks to its special stickers. Color options and other design features are still being finalized. Special equipment features include solar panels, a roof rack and exterior lighting, which make the vehicle ideal for off-road use.
Price and availability
The base price of the Dethleffs Performance 4x4 is €119,999.00. The vehicle is expected to be ready for the market from June next year and can then be purchased via the usual ordering options.
Conclusion and evaluation
The Dethleffs Performance 4x4 impresses with its innovative off-road equipment and well thought-out interior. Particularly noteworthy are the 18-inch all-terrain tires, the ladder at the rear and the light bar above the windscreen.
