Is this the smallest caravan in the world with a toilet and shower?

At the Caravan Salon 2026 in Düsseldorf, we spotted it for the first time: the Tosbiq TK 240. A cute retro caravan with rounded corners, just 388 centimeters long including the drawbar.

The living area measures 240 centimeters in length and 190 centimeters in width on the inside. Packed in there: a wet room with toilet, a kitchen with a 90-liter fridge, a seating area for four, and a double bed. On top of that, you get a solar system, a diesel parking heater, and an awning.

So is this the smallest caravan in the world with a toilet and shower? Short answer: we don't know. There's no official ranking for mini caravans with a bathroom, and plenty of small manufacturers around the world build trailers like this. There's even a competitor from Turkey that's (almost) just as short. More on that in a moment.

Still, we think what Tosbiq has managed to fit into this space is record-worthy. And the shower? It's there. Keep reading to find out where it's tucked away.

Smallest in the world? The competition isn't sleeping!

Ankaravan from Akyurt near Ankara, whose Mini 270 we already introduced you to, also has a caravan with a 240-centimeter body length plus toilet and shower in its lineup: the Micro 240.

Figures according to manufacturers and dealers

On paper, the TK 240 is therefore two centimeters shorter. That's practically a tie, since two centimeters can easily come down to how a manufacturer measures. When it comes to weight, the Ankaravan wins out: in the base version, it's 200 kilos lighter.

Who's behind Tosbiq?

Tosbiq Karavan is a Turkish manufacturer based in Erenler, in Sakarya province, east of Istanbul. The company is a member of the Turkish association of caravan manufacturers and suppliers (KAİTED).

In Germany, Tosbiq models are sold by Wohnwagenpark Pinneberg near Hamburg. In its trade show brochure, it calls itself the "European distributor." Behind it is Seta GmbH, which also runs the German website tosbiq.de. According to the commercial register, it was founded in late 2023. Its stated business purpose covers freight and transport as well as the purchase, sale, and rental of vehicles, caravans, and motorhomes. The dealer itself advertises more than ten years of experience and over 2,000 satisfied customers. So far, we haven't found a second official Tosbiq dealer in Germany.

So how long have Tosbiq caravans actually been available here? The importer doesn't give an exact start date. But the brand isn't brand new either: on the rental platform PaulCamper, a renter from Mönchengladbach offers two Tosbiq caravans first registered in 2022. Those are the oldest Tosbiqs we could track down in Germany. The company now handling distribution has existed since late 2023. So Tosbiq has been around here for a few years, but it's still (for now) a small player.

At Caravan Salon 2026, Tosbiq presented its 2027 lineup in Hall 11. Alongside the TK 240, the range includes the TK 260, TK 280, TK 350, and TK 360. Prices range from €16,999 to €22,999.

The dimensions

The website and the trade show brochure differ slightly on a few figures. The website, for example, lists a height of 235 centimeters, a bed length of 195 centimeters, and up to three sleeping places. We've gone with the figures from the brochure.

Is the Tosbiq TK 240 suitable for towing with an electric car?

Yes, as long as your car is rated to tow enough. With a permitted gross weight of 1,000 kilos and a braked axle, your tow vehicle needs a braked towing capacity of at least 1,000 kilos – ideally more, since having some reserve is always a good idea. You'll find the towing capacity in your vehicle registration document under section O.1.

Many electric SUVs and mid-range EVs can handle this figure. Smaller electric cars, however, are often rated to tow less.

For these cases, there's the option of downrating to 750 kilos, according to the dealer at no extra cost. The catch: with a 640-kilo empty weight, that leaves only 110 kilos of payload. Pretty tight for two or even three travelers.

Also check your driver's license. With a Class B license, you're only allowed to tow a trailer over 750 kilos if the combined permitted total weight of car and trailer doesn't exceed 3,500 kilos. With the TK 240 at 1,000 kilos, that leaves your car a maximum permitted total weight of 2,500 kilos. Many electric SUVs are heavier than that. In that case, you'll need a B96 or BE license, or you'll have to get the caravan downrated to 750 kilos. So the promise of "no trailer license needed" doesn't apply to every combo.

The bathroom: toilet inside, shower better outside

Now for the most important question. Yes, the TK 240 has its own bathroom. The wet cell sits in one corner and includes a portable toilet, a mini washbasin with a pull-out faucet for showering, a cabinet underneath, a curtain, and a small window (20 × 40 cm).

For a quick rinse-off in between, that's absolutely enough — at least if you're not too broad-shouldered. For a proper shower, you head outside or to the campsite's sanitary building.

For a caravan this length, equipment like this is a real achievement, just like I noted with the Ankaravan. Many mini caravans this size are pure sleeping-and-cuddling capsules.

Living and sleeping: the seating area turns into a double bed

At the back, two bench seats face each other with a table in between. According to the manufacturer, up to four people can sit here. In the evening, you convert the seating area into a double bed. The bed measures 130 × 191 centimeters. That works for two adults, though it's not exactly spacious. Coming from home or from bigger caravans, you're usually used to at least 140 to 160 cm in width.

Three windows with blinds and mosquito nets let light into the seating area. The windows are double-glazed, and there's also a roof hatch with insect screen and blackout. The furniture is made of coated marine plywood in a light oak tone, the walls are wallpapered, and the ceiling is covered in fabric. According to the dealer, you can choose your upholstery color and exterior paint in any RAL color at no extra cost. So the retro look isn't mandatory.

Standing height is 183 centimeters. If you're taller, you'll need to duck permanently. A 2 kW diesel parking heater helps on cold nights, and there's also an electric heater for use on shore power.

Kitchen and technology: no gas on board

The kitchen is built in at the front, with a worktop featuring a sink and faucet, a 12-volt fridge with 90 liters of capacity, and an induction hob. Alternatively, you get a portable gas cartridge stove. There's no fixed gas installation, so no gas inspection is required.

One thing to know about the induction hob: it needs 230 volts. The equipment list doesn't mention an inverter. So cooking with induction only works on shore power. If you often stay off-grid, better stick with the cartridge stove.

Power comes from a 205-watt solar panel with an MPPT controller and a 100 Ah gel battery. At the campsite, a 20-amp charger recharges via the 230-volt external connection. Inside, there are 230-volt sockets, USB ports, and a 12-volt socket, plus LED lighting inside and out. You shouldn't discharge a gel battery much below half. So around 50 Ah is actually usable.

Water comes from a 40-liter tank with a lockable filler neck, and a 12-volt pump builds up the pressure. The equipment list doesn't mention a wastewater tank — I'd guess a wastewater canister is included instead.

The price: how much does the Tosbiq TK 240 cost?

The list price is 16,999 euros. The trade show brochure listed a special price of 16,499 euros. Whether and how long that still applies after the Caravan Salon is best checked directly with the dealer.

We didn't find equipment packages like the ones Ankaravan offers for Tosbiq. Solar system, parking heater, fridge, awning, braked AL-KO axle, and outdoor shower are already included in the base price. According to the dealer, downrating to 750 kilos, your choice of RAL color, and your upholstery color come at no extra cost. An anti-snaking hitch is available as an option. The dealer offers financing (even without a down payment), trade-ins, and delivery throughout Germany and the EU.

That makes the TK 240 more expensive than the base Ankaravan Micro 240 at 10,000 euros. The higher Micro packages (Full, Premium, Ultra) cost 14,000 to 16,000 euros, putting them in a similar price range.

What to watch out for when buying

• Recalculate the weight: At 750 kilos, only 110 kilos of payload remain. Luggage, dishes, and supplies for 2 to 3 people add up fast. → Ask for the weighed empty weight of your specific unit.

• Check the paperwork:We couldn't find any info on the site about the COC document (proof of EU type approval). → Ask to see it before you buy. Without a COC, the trailer needs individual approval from TÜV or DEKRA. Also ask about registration for 100 km/h.

• Plan for service:The official dealer is based in Pinneberg near Hamburg. They offer a workshop, spare parts, and two years of manufacturer warranty. → If you live in southern Germany, find out where warranty work and repairs can actually be done.

• Wood in the body:The frame is made from poplar marine plywood and heat-treated wood, insulated with polystyrene. If water gets in, the wood suffers. → Ask whether there's a watertightness warranty.

• Plan your off-grid capability realistically:Induction only works on shore power, the usable battery is around 50 Ah, and there's no wastewater tank listed. → Find out before buying where the wastewater actually goes.

Bottom line: Who's the Tosbiq TK 240 for?

The TK 240 is a caravan for couples, families with a baby or toddler, and solo travelers who take short trips, like small pitches, and don't want to walk across the campsite at night to reach a toilet. For three weeks in southern France as a couple, it gets tight: 130 cm bed width, 40 liters of water, and depending on the payload rating, not much cargo capacity. At around 240 cm in height, it won't fit in a standard garage either.

If you drive an EV with at least 1,000 kg towing capacity and pay close attention to your driver's license category, this gets you one of the shortest caravans with a bathroom available in Germany, at least.

We can't say for sure whether the TK 240 is the smallest caravan in the world with a toilet and shower. Still, it's impressive: fitting that much equipment into 240 cm is no small feat.
