Pioneer DCT-WR204-SH (2024) - 4G Wi-Fi router with antenna for the best connection on the move

Japanese electronics manufacturer Pioneer presented its new and powerful Pioneer DCT-WR204-SH Wi-Fi router at the Caravan Salon 2024.

A Wi-Fi hotspot can be created using the Wi-Fi repeater function. To ensure a good Wi-Fi signal indoors, the Pioneer DCT-WR204-SH is equipped with two internal Wi-Fi antennas. The package also includes a roof-mounted MIMO antenna.

Details & functions

The Pioneer DCT-WR204-SH allows the use of dual-band Wi-Fi frequencies at 5 GHz. The Wi-Fi router also ensures that the Internet speed of several connected devices is maintained.

With the DCT-WR204-SH, Pioneer has deliberately opted for 4G, as this is sufficient for most applications. This enables an affordable entry-level price compared to a 5G router, which in turn should appeal to the masses.

The Pioneer DCT-WR204-SH is permanently installed, although its slim design means it fits into even the smallest of rooms and is perfect for retrofitting.

The scope of delivery includes a particularly narrow shark fin antenna, which can also be easily mounted on profiled roofs. The WLAN router can also be used as a hotspot and is characterized by numerous subtleties that make operation convenient.

These include the QR code, which can be used to log into the system immediately and make settings. The system is operated via the web-based interface using a smartphone, tablet or laptop.

The Pioneer DCT-WR204-SH also has an on/off switch so that the router can be switched off completely when leaving the camping vehicle or overnight. However, it is best to use the available timer function to switch it off at night.

Also included: two SIM card slots where the camper can insert a SIM card for Germany and another foreign SIM card, for example.

Guest access is also configurable, as is the possibility of limiting the data rate.

The manufacturer recommends having the installation carried out by specialists at the dealer to ensure that the holes are drilled accurately.
