Short, compact, nimble: the market for small caravans keeps growing steadily. Yeah, you could say small caravans are trending. Some campers appreciate the comfort of towing a shorter rig – especially since you can do it with a standard car license. Others love minimalism, and that extends to how they camp. For all of them, the market offers a huge range of small caravans, mainly suited to couples and solo travelers. Some manufacturers even manage to fit in space for families with kids, despite the tiny footprint.
But even with all that minimalism, plenty of people still don't want to give up the comfort of their own bathroom, however small. That's why in this article, we're showing you around 35 small caravans with a bathroom, including a toilet and, in some cases, even a shower.

Small caravans up to 750 kg with toilet and, in some cases, shower
With a maximum authorized mass of up to 750 kg, you can tow a trailer with a standard car license (class B) behind any car that has a tow bar and the necessary towing capacity.
The trailer doesn't necessarily need brakes in this case. This is exactly the class many people are after, and it's the toughest one when it comes to bathrooms. A toilet, water, and washroom all cost weight.
Pay close attention to the payload here. If a caravan weighs 700 kg empty, that leaves just 50 kg for gas, water, dishes, and clothing at a 750 kg MAM. That's enough for a weekend, not for a three-week vacation.
Ankaravan Micro 240 and Mini 270
These two Turkish minis are the cheapest caravans with a bathroom we found. In Germany, they're sold by ANKER Caravan in Berlin. The Micro 240 has a body of just 240 cm, measures 390 cm including the drawbar, and weighs 440 kg. The Mini 270 is 420 cm long, weighs 490 kg, and sleeps three. With a 750 kg MAM, that leaves over 250 kg of payload.
Both have a wet room with a toilet. Showering happens via a pull-out tap at the sink, and the Mini 270 also has a floor drain for this, plus an outdoor shower. In the base version, there's a portable toilet in the wet room. A fixed cassette toilet, diesel heater, solar panel, and fridge are only available with the equipment packages. With the top package, prices start at roughly €16,000 and €17,000 respectively; the base versions start at around €10,000 and €11,000. Ask about service and spare parts before buying, since the dealer network is small.
Micro 240: 390 cm, 440 kg, 750 kg MAM, 2 sleeping spots, height 245 cm, standing height 190 cm
Mini 270: 420 cm, 490 kg, 750 kg MAM, 3 sleeping spots, height 245 cm, standing height 190 cm
Niewiadow N126ET
The Niewiadow N126ET from Poland is the shortest caravan with a fixed washroom. It's 388 cm long (the German importer states 395 cm), weighs 570 kg, and has a GRP body with a pop-up roof. The enclosed washroom comes standard with a Thetford cassette toilet and a folding sink; a shower tray is available for an extra charge. The fridge is a 50-liter compressor model, and a heater is optional.
While driving, it's about 220 cm tall, so it fits under many carports. The catch is the bed: it's built from the seating area and measures just 122 × 184 cm.
Specs: 388 cm, 570 kg, 750 kg MAM (upgradeable to 900 kg, or even 1,000 kg according to the catalog), 2 sleeping spots, from around €14,600

Niewiadow NTL-Lazur
If you want a bit more space but still need to stay at 750 kg, take a look at the NTL-Lazur. It's 447 cm long, weighs 600 kg, and comes standard with a cassette toilet and shower with a 5-liter electric boiler. At 750 kg, that leaves around 150 kg of payload, and an upgrade to 900 kg is possible.
Specs: 447 cm, 600 kg, 750 kg MAM (900 kg), 3 sleeping spots, height 253 cm, standing height 185 cm, from around €14,800

Carpento 310 S and 330 S
Carpento builds short GRP caravans with a full bathroom in Bergama, near Izmir. The importer is Müller Motors in Königswinter. The 310 S is 440 cm long and weighs between 540 and 600 kg, depending on the source. It has a shower tray, a cassette toilet, a 65-liter compressor fridge, and a large panoramic window at the front. It's 240 cm tall on the outside, with 190 cm of standing height inside. The new 330 S is 10 cm longer.
Both come with a 750 kg gross weight as standard, but you can get 1,000 kg for around €500 extra. Add roughly €2,000 for transport and paperwork. Heating, water heater, and stove are optional extras.
310 S specs: 440 cm, 540–600 kg, 750 kg gross weight (1,000 / 1,350), sleeps 2, from approx. €19,800
330 S specs: 450 cm, 550–620 kg, 750 kg gross weight (1,000 / 1,350), sleeps 2, from approx. €22,000

Tosbiq 240
Tosbiq is a brand by SETA GmbH from Pinneberg, built in Turkey. The Tosbiq TK 240 is just as short as the Niewiadow N126ET at 388 cm and has a compact wet room with a portable toilet, a washbasin with a pull-out shower head, and a curtain. There's also an outdoor shower. It runs entirely without gas: diesel heating, 205 W solar, and a 100 Ah battery all come standard. From the factory it has a 1,000 kg gross weight, but the dealer will downrate it to 750 kg for free. That leaves around 110 kg of payload at a 640 kg unladen weight. Standing height is about 180 cm.
Specs: 388 cm, 640 kg, 1,000 kg gross weight (free downrate to 750 kg), sleeps 2–3, height approx. 240 cm, from approx. €17,000
Caravelair Mini Freestyle 290 and 320
These two pop-top caravans from the Trigano Group are just 198 cm tall while driving. That makes them the only caravans with a toilet that fit into a standard garage. Once you're parked, you pop the roof up and get 187 cm of standing height. The 290 has a small toilet room with a corner washbasin; a shower tray is optional. On the 320, the cassette toilet sits at the rear right under a cabinet panel — there's no separate cabin. The 320 is new for model year 2027 and has two longitudinal sofas that convert into single beds or a nearly 2 m wide double bed.
At 750 kg, you're left with only 58–71 kg of payload. That's why you should plan for the uprating to up to 1,200 kg, provided your car allows it. Heating is only available as an option, in the form of electric heating.
290 specs: 442 cm, 679 kg, 750 kg gross weight (up to 1,200), sleeps 2, from approx. €18,000
320 specs: 459 cm, 692 kg, 750 kg gross weight (up to 1,200), sleeps 2, from approx. €19,500
Adria Aviva Lite 300 LH
The cheapest branded caravan with a toilet on this list. The Aviva Lite is 475 cm long, weighs around 660 kg, and has a cassette toilet in a small wet room, 195 cm of standing height, and a 45-liter compressor fridge. It runs entirely without gas — there's no heating, not even as an option. At 750 kg, payload is tight, but the uprating to 1,000 kg makes it practical for everyday use. At that weight it comes in at around 710 kg and gets an 80-liter fridge.
Specs: 475 cm, 660 kg (710 kg with 1,000 kg chassis), 750 kg gross weight (1,000), sleeps 2+1, from approx. €13,900
Small caravans up to 1,000 kg with toilet and sometimes a shower
Up to 1,000 kg gross vehicle weight is the most interesting class. Many compact and mid-size EVs are approved to tow around 1,000 kg braked, and caravans in this class have enough room for a proper bathroom. Still, always check the towing capacity in your vehicle registration (field O.1) and the noseweight. On EVs, noseweight is often limited to 50–75 kg.
Fendt NEXT 380 and 381
Both NEXT models are built at Fendt-Caravan in Mertingen. They're among the few German production caravans with a 1,000 kg gross weight straight from the factory. Both are 588 cm long and weigh around 805 kg ready to drive, leaving just under 200 kg of payload. The washroom has a fixed built-in cassette toilet; there's no shower. Gas heating comes standard, which is rare in this class. Hot water is only available with the Comfort package.
Inside you get 198 cm of standing height; the NEXT stands 259 cm tall on the outside. The 380 is designed for two to three people. The 381 adds a bunk bed at the rear, giving it four sleeping spots.
NEXT 380 specs: 588 cm, 805 kg, 1,000 kg gross weight (uprated to 1,100 or 1,300 kg), sleeps 3, from approx. €19,600
NEXT 381 specs: 588 cm, 808 kg, 1,000 kg gross weight (uprated to 1,100 or 1,300 kg), sleeps 4, from approx. €20,000

Niewiadow N126NT, Sport series, and New Sport 4
All 450 cm Niewiadow models have an enclosed washroom with a cassette toilet, but they differ when it comes to showering: the N126 NT and the NTL (with the long bed) only get a shower for an extra charge. The NT-Sport, NTL-Sport, and New Sport 4 come standard with a shower tray and a 5-liter electric water heater, plus a 30-liter water tank and a battery. The New Sport 4 also has bunk beds and sleeps four. The German importer delivers these models with a 1,000 kg gross weight and offers an uprate option, while the catalog lists 750 kg with an upgrade to 1,000 kg for an extra charge. Heating is optional on all models, and the manufacturer doesn't list an unladen weight for these.
N126 NT specs: 450 cm, 750–850 kg gross weight (1,000), sleeps 2, bed 195 × 130 cm, standing height 181 cm, from approx. €16,000
N126 NTL specs: 450 cm, 750–850 kg gross weight (1,000), sleeps 3, bed 195 × 185 cm, standing height 181 cm, from approx. €16,100

Niewiadow N-Lazur and N-Cross Family
The bigger Niewiadow models are around 560 cm long and have a warm water shower. The N-Cross Family has a 1,000 kg gross weight and comes loaded with standard features: Truma gas heater, shower with 5-litre electric boiler, 55-litre fridge, and a 100 Ah battery. There's also a bed up front and a bunk bed. For families with an EV, this is one of the best combos of bathroom and weight you'll find. The N-Cross Style is the same van but with two seating areas instead of the bunk bed. On the Lazur models, the heater is optional. The manufacturer doesn't publish an empty weight here either.
N-Lazur 3 Style specs: 558 cm, 900–1,000 kg gross weight, 3 berths, beds 205 × 152 cm and 205 × 65 cm, height 253 cm, standing height 185 cm, from around €18,200
N-Lazur 4 Family specs: 558 cm, 950–1,000 kg gross weight, 4 berths, bed 205 × 145 cm plus two bunk beds 205 × 65 cm, height 253 cm, standing height 185 cm, from around €18,200
N-Cross Family specs: 561 cm, 950–1,000 kg gross weight (upgradeable to 1,300 kg), 4 berths, bed 205 × 143 cm plus bunk bed 199 × 63 cm, height 253 cm, standing height 185 cm, from around €22,300
N-Cross Style specs: 561 cm, 950–1,000 kg gross weight (upgradeable to 1,300 kg), 3 berths, height 253 cm, standing height 185 cm, from around €22,400
Carpento 360 S to 430 S
The bigger Carpento models come with a 1,000 kg gross weight from the factory and weigh anywhere between 600 and 750 kg, depending on the source. That means 250 to 400 kg of payload—a really solid figure. All of them have a shower and cassette toilet, 240 cm exterior height, and 190 cm standing height. The 360 S has a bunk bed and sleeps four, while the 410 S and 430 S sleep up to five. The M variant (convertible bunk bed) and D variant (overhead cupboards instead of an upper bed) cost extra. On top of all the listed prices, add around €2,000 for transport and paperwork.
360 S specs: 490 cm, 600–650 kg, 1,000 kg gross weight (1,350 kg optional), 4 berths, from around €21,500
380 S specs: 500 cm, 610–670 kg, 1,000 kg gross weight (1,350 kg optional), 4 berths, from around €23,500
410 S specs: 540 cm, 660–750 kg, 1,000 kg gross weight (1,350 kg optional), 4–5 berths, from around €23,000
430 S specs: 550 cm, 670–750 kg, 1,000 kg gross weight (1,350 kg optional), 4–5 berths, from around €25,000

Tosbiq 260, 280, and 350
The bigger Tosbiq models stick with a 1,000 kg gross weight—the manufacturer doesn't offer a downgrade to 750 kg here. For the 260, with its roughly 800 kg empty weight, that wouldn't make sense anyway. All of them skip gas entirely and rely on a diesel heater, solar, and battery power instead. Instead of a toilet, you get a portable toilet in a small cabin; the 350 and 360 offer a cassette toilet as an option. Showering happens outside—only the small 240 has an extra shower head at the washbasin. So if you're after a proper bathroom, this isn't it. But if you want to camp off-grid, take a closer look.
Tosbiq 260 specs: 410 cm, approx. 700–800 kg, 1,000 kg gross weight, up to 3 berths, height approx. 240 cm, standing height approx. 197 cm, wet room without indoor shower, from around €18,000
Tosbiq 280 specs: 430 cm, 700 kg, 1,000 kg gross weight, 2–3 berths, height 240 cm, standing height 190 cm, toilet cabin with curtain, 340 W solar, 90-litre fridge, from around €18,000 to €19,000 (the manufacturer lists two prices)
Tosbiq 350 specs: 500 cm, approx. 890 kg, 1,000 kg gross weight (upgradeable to 1,350 kg), up to 4 berths, height 245 cm, standing height 190 cm, 340 W solar, 90-litre fridge, from around €20,000

Ankaravan Eco 350
The biggest Ankaravan available in Germany is 500 cm long, weighs 880 kg, and has a 1,000 kg gross weight. It has a toilet, with a cassette toilet available as an option. The shower is outside. With a seating bed and bunk bed, it sleeps four.
Specs: 500 cm, 880 kg, 1,000 kg gross weight, 4 berths, height 245 cm, standing height 190 cm, from around €16,000

Sterckeman Easy and Caravelair Alba
These two French model ranges are built on the same platform. They come from the factory with a gross weight of 850 or 950 kg, an 84-litre compressor fridge, an induction hob, 258 cm exterior height, and 195 cm standing height. The 325DD has an electric cassette toilet, while the 390CP and 420CP also add a shower tray. A heater is optional across the range, and hot water only comes as part of a package.
The problem is payload: around 70 kg on the 325DD, around 100 kg on the 390CP, and just around 50 kg on the 420CP. Without upgrading to up to 1,300 kg, you can barely travel with these. But then not every EV will be able to tow it anymore.
Easy 325 DD / Alba 325 specs: 545 cm, 779 kg, 850 kg gross weight (up to 1,300 kg), 2 berths, transverse bed 140 × 190 cm, from around €16,000
Easy 390 CP / Alba 390 specs: 595 cm, 847 kg, 950 kg gross weight (up to 1,300 kg), 3 berths, fixed bed 140 × 190 cm plus rear bed, from around €17,000
Easy 420 CP / Alba 400 specs: 615 cm, 897 kg, 950 kg gross weight (up to 1,300 kg), 4 berths, fixed bed 140 × 190 cm plus bed 170 × 100 cm, from around €17,500
Small caravans with bathroom over 1,000 kg
The big German and Slovenian manufacturers usually build their smallest caravans with bathroom at 1,200–1,500 kg. In return, you get full standing height, well-known dealer networks and often four berths. These are solid options if you're towing with a petrol SUV or an estate rated for 1,500 kg.
Weinsberg CaraOne 390 QD
The lightest German production caravan in this group weighs 943 kg ready to drive, but has a 1,200 kg MTPLM that can be upgraded to 1,350 kg. It comes with a swiveling cassette toilet; a shower is available as an option for around €300.

Cassette toilet: It's permanently built in. You pull the waste tank out from outside through a hatch and empty it at a disposal station. This is the standard setup at Fendt, Niewiadow, Carpento and the big manufacturers.
Portable toilet: A Porta Potti sits in a cupboard or the washroom. It's light and cheap, but you have to carry it out to empty it. Tosbiq and the base versions of Ankaravan go with this option.
Separating toilet: It separates liquid and solid waste, needs no chemicals and barely smells. Emptying it works differently than you might be used to. Small workshops like 7even50 install these, but only as a portable solution without a fixed washroom. That's why these models don't appear in our overview.
Shower in a mini caravan: what's realistic
No caravan in this size class has a separate shower cubicle. The shower is almost always the washroom itself: a shower tray in the floor, a showerhead and a curtain. For warm water, you need a boiler plus fresh and waste water tanks - all of which cost weight and space. In the smallest models like the Ankaravan and Tosbiq 240, you shower using the pull-out tap at the sink. Others rely on an outdoor shower.
Many people driving a mini with a shower end up using the sanitary facilities at the campsite anyway. The toilet, though, gets used every night. So think carefully about whether a toilet alone is enough for you.
Advantages of small caravans and mini caravans
Since there's no clear definition of mini caravans or small caravans, this article uses the following rule: a maximum total length of around 6 meters including the drawbar, sorted by weight class.
Small caravans - and the short rigs that come with them - offer plenty of advantages. Here's a quick rundown:
Low total weight: A small caravan's lower weight means your tow vehicle needs less power too. In other words, you can tow with a small car or even an electric vehicle - and use less fuel overall.

With the B96 extension to your category B license, these limits go up: the trailer can weigh more than 750 kilograms, and the combined weight of car and trailer can reach up to 4.25 tonnes.

On some campsites, you can save money since fees are often calculated by size, meaning you pay less with a small caravan. For families with kids who don't want to miss out on the perks of a small caravan but still need a bit more room, a compact model offers extra flexibility. It can, for example, be hitched to a camper van as an additional sleeping space. If you need even more room, tents can serve as extra sleeping spots.
Easy handling: The shorter the rig, the better your overview – and maneuvering is usually easier too. In general, a light, short caravan is simpler to handle, since you can push it into position yourself rather than relying on brute force or technical aids like a mover. You'll also need less space when looking for winter storage.
Purchase cost: Smaller + lighter = cheaper? That only holds true to a point – specifically when you compare models from the same (or equivalent) manufacturer. There are definitely 5-meter caravans with seriously comfortable fittings and advanced tech that cost more at base price than an 8-meter entry-level model from another brand. So it really comes down to what standards you expect from extra features and build quality.
What to look out for when buying
Payload: MTPLM minus unladen weight. Optional extras eat into this. Below 100 kg, things get tight.
Towing capacity and nose weight: Both are listed in your vehicle documents. With EVs, the nose weight is often low. More on this in our nose weight guide.
Driving licence: With a Class B licence, you can always tow trailers up to 750 kg. Above that, only if the car and trailer combined don't exceed 3,500 kg. Otherwise, you'll need a B96 or BE licence.
Height: A standard garage has about 2.00 m of clearance, a carport usually 2.10–2.30 m. Under 2 m, only the Mini Freestyle with a pop-up roof still gives you a toilet.
60 mph speed rating: A light caravan paired with a heavy car makes it easier to meet the requirements for 100 km/h approval.
Buying a small caravan with toilet second-hand
Used minis with a bathroom are in demand and hard to find. If you spot one, check it thoroughly:
Check for moisture, especially around windows, roof hatches, and the toilet flap. Ask for a recent watertightness certificate.
Gas inspection: it should be valid. The check is due every two years.
Tires: the age is stamped as a DOT number on the sidewall. Plan to replace older tires.
Toilet: check seals and valves, and inspect the cassette for cracks.
Vehicle registration: does the MTPLM match your car? A later weight reduction isn't always possible.
Many of these models have been around for years, like the Niewiadow N126 or the Weinsberg CaraOne. It's worth searching for them used too.
Alternatives: folding caravans, teardrops, and box trailers with toilet
Folding caravans and teardrops rarely have a fixed toilet. Usually there's just room for a portable one. If you're flexible, it's worth checking out converted box trailers like the 7even50. They're short, light, and come with a portable separating toilet on board, but no washroom. You'll find more models without a bathroom in our article on micro caravans and folding caravans.
Looking ahead: Karoo Adventure Camper
The Karoo from Finland is built for aerodynamics. According to the manufacturer, it has 51% less drag and cuts the tow vehicle's fuel consumption by 23%. It's 530 cm long and comes with a cassette toilet, shower, and up to 5.1 kWh battery. The price is around €38,000 (as of September 2026). So far it's only available for pre-order, with series production announced for early 2027. The final weight isn't set yet, but the manufacturer expects an MTPLM of around 1,350 kg.
