VW presented the new Multivan California Concept at the Caravan Salon 2023 and makes the hearts of Cali fans beat faster. The basis is the VW Multivan, which was introduced in 2021 and is also incorrectly referred to as the T7.

In the following 360° tour you can virtually visit the floor plan of the VW Multivan California Concept:
Compared with its T6.1 predecessor, the Multivan offers greater everyday practicality and improved ride comfort thanks to a wide range of modern assistance systems. A second sliding door opens another entry and loading option and access to the cooking area from both inside and outside. The driver’s cab seats are both height-adjustable and rotatable.

In the passenger compartment, individual seats can be installed quickly and easily. This allows the Multivan to be flexibly adapted to requirements. Each seat also has its own optimized air conditioning.

To erect the bed, the seats are pushed forward and the backrests are folded down completely. The foldable bed pads are laid out over it, creating a sleeping surface for two people.

Another sleeping option can be found in the pop-up roof made of a lightweight aluminum roof shell including a panoramic view. When the bed is not in use, the roof provides a comfortable standing height inside. The bed is accessed via the backrest of the seats in the driver’s cab.

Thanks to the second entrance door, the kitchenette can be used from the outside. A small table that folds out to the outside serves as additional storage. Likewise, the drawers under the stove can be opened on both sides. The kitchenette has a gas stove and a sliding induction hob.

The refrigerator can also be operated from both sides. As a practical accessory, VW presented an electric mini grill for outdoor use.

Connections to the power supply can be found in the kitchen module. 230 V sockets as well as USB-C ports supply the devices with power.

Under the bed module is storage space for luggage and equipment. The gas box for a 2.8 kg gas bottle is also located there and is easier to access compared to the previous model. The table, which is suitable for indoor and outdoor use, can be stored under the bed when not in use.

The VW Multivan California Concept on display is also a plug-in hybrid.

It is currently not known exactly when the study will go into series production. Likewise, the price has not yet been determined. For the Multivan alone, the price is at least €51,485.35.
