Camping at theme parks: fun for the whole family

Camping at amusement parks is a practical way to combine camping and fun. Many amusement parks offer their own or nearby overnight accommodation for campers in caravans, motorhomes or tents.

No matter how old you are, you can be a child again in an amusement park – thanks to the incomparable mix of fairy tales, adventure, nostalgia and a good dose of adrenaline and candy floss.

Even if it’s great fun with the whole family – you don’t necessarily have to have children to treat yourself to the perfect little escape in one of the parks. Here I present some of the most beautiful theme parks in Germany and neighboring countries and show you where you can spend the night with your camper.

Now that you’ve been given lots of tips and inspiration for amusement parks and places to stay overnight, a few tips for visiting a theme park are a must.

Before you dive into the fun, you should plan your trip:

  • Almost all parks have their own app to help you find your way around and display waiting times, for example.
  • It’s worth booking your tickets online. You save a lot here compared to buying tickets on site.
  • Check whether there are combined tickets available. You can often enter the park for free or at least at a reduced price with an overnight stay.
  • Many parks have additional express tickets that you can use to shorten waiting times at selected attractions.
  • Baby-Switch is offered on many rides so that your partner can board without having to wait if he/she has been waiting for you with the infant.
  • The parks are not always open on all days of the week – make sure you check beforehand whether the park is actually open.
  • It can get crowded during the vacations and at weekends – plan accordingly or postpone your visit to Monday to Thursday.
  • If you want to save money, bring your own food and drinks.

Conclusion

Theme parks are the perfect place to become a child again and experience the incomparable mix of fairy tales, adventure, nostalgia, adrenaline and candy floss.

Whether for a few days with friends, the whole family or just for a day full of fun and excitement – amusement parks offer the perfect break. There is something for all ages and interests to discover at the numerous amusement parks in Germany and neighboring countries.
