Matist once again surprised the audience at the Caravan Salon 2024 with unusual Ford Transit conversions, including the Matist Family L. The brand is not operated by a standard conversion company, but was created in a Ford dealership in Steinfurt in Münsterland. It is a self-developed and home-made brand with three Transit panel vans and a Tourneo-Urban Camper model.
The first Matist XL was launched at the 2023 Caravan Salon. It is a six-meter-long van with lengthways beds, which was given a refresh for the 2024 Caravan Salon.
Following the positive response from buyers to the first model, Matist has now introduced two new models with the evocative title Family. The Matist Family L in particular, with a length of just 5.55 m and sleeping up to five people, is a compact model for families looking for a practical all-rounder.

The Matist Family L is a panel van based on the Ford Transit. The vehicle is 5.50 m long, 2.08 m wide and 2.85 m high, with space for up to five registered seats. The sleeping area (fold-down bed and bench seat) can also accommodate up to five people.
In its basic configuration, the Matist Family L has a 130 hp 2.0L EcoBlue engine with 6-speed manual transmission and front-wheel drive. Equipped with a 45-liter fresh water tank and a well-placed gas locker for 3 kg bottles, this camper van offers a reliable water supply.
The efficient underfloor heating and the Truma Combi heater with 10-liter hot water boiler ensure pleasant temperatures. The power supply is ensured by 220 volts, a charger and comprehensive safety equipment. The 12-volt body battery under the passenger seat enables short distances to the vehicle battery and alternator, while an integrated charging booster improves charging efficiency.
Interior
With its functional shower, space-saving chemical toilet and clever storage space, the bathroom offers everything you need for a comfortable journey. The well thought-out design and modern technology make the bathroom a practical space that enriches every journey.
The floor plan should also appeal to dog owners. A stainless steel shower tray is located in the bathroom. The shower can be closed off from the outside and inside with slatted walls. With access through the rear hinged doors, the shower can also be used as a sluice after a walk with the dog or a hike in wet terrain. The cassette toilet is also located here, with a folding washbasin mounted above it.
From the bathroom, you are directly in front of the kitchen. The L-shaped design has a large surface area. In addition to the hob and sink, there is a work surface that also serves as the lid for the cool box. Dishes are stored in a tall cupboard and in a drawer under the cool box.
To the right of the kitchen is the passageway into the living area, with a small bench seat installed on the right-hand side of the passageway. The living area consists of the automotive equipment of the Ford Transit, i.e. two swivel cab seats and a bench seat for three. In between is a table that can be folded in half.
The sleeping area is created in two ways. Firstly, the bench seat can be folded down to create a double bed.
There is a loft bed above the seating area, which offers sleeping space for two to three people at around half height.
The living and sleeping area in the Matist Family L is compact but versatile and offers space for up to five people and a pet. The practical, multifunctional table can be easily folded out and stowed away again to allow for both cozy meals and versatile activities. In a few simple steps, the space can be transformed into a comfortable sleeping area equipped with a flexible fold-down bed.
Technology and equipment
The Matist Family L is equipped with modern electronics, including an on-board computer and various entertainment systems. The heating and air conditioning ensure pleasant temperatures in the interior, regardless of the outside weather conditions.
The water supply is ensured by a 45-liter fresh water tank and a well-placed gas locker for 3 kg bottles. A 10-liter hot water boiler provides hot water. The safety equipment includes airbags and various assistance systems to ensure a safe journey.
Storage space
The storage space in the Matist Family L is considerable despite its compact size. Special storage solutions such as variable compartments and concealed shelves provide additional flexibility and organization.

The design of the Matist Family L is modern and appealing. Various color options are available to suit the individual taste of the buyer. Special features such as solar panels, roof racks and exterior lighting round off the overall look and make the vehicle a real eye-catcher from the outside too.

The campervan presented at the Caravan Salon is priced at EUR 75,990. The vehicle is available immediately and can be ordered via the manufacturer’s website. Various financing and leasing options are available to facilitate the purchase.
